Passions' Soap Opera Award Nominees JULIET MILLS, LINDSAY KORMAN, DONN SWABY,
JOSH RYAN EVANS, AND JESSE METCALFE:
SOD Host: We're linking up with the Passions crew out in LA right now...  And
we're ready to go! Please welcome Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Ryan Evans, and Juliet
Mills!
Josh Ryan Evans: Hi everyone!
Juliet Mills: Hello everyone!
Jesse Metcalfe: Hello! Hola!
samantha_lynn_46032 asks:  Hi, Juliet! Hi, Josh! Hi, Lindsay! Hi, Jesse!  Hi,
Donn! Congratulations on being nominated. I hope you all win! You are all
such great actors. What was your first reaction when you found out you were
nominated?
Juliet: Well, I was astonished! I was astonished at being nominated as the
best villain! I never thought it would happen to me!
Josh: I was ecstatic, just really really happy and shocked.
Jesse: I was pretty shocked. I was like, "What could I possibly be nominated
for?"
Josh: I got called by the producer, so I thought I was in trouble! But when
they told me congratulations, I was like, "Cool! I want to be called by the
producer more often!"
SODhost: Donn Swaby's joined us....
Donn Swaby: Hello, hello! Hola!
Jesse: That's what I said!
Donn:  Not too original then... What's up? Oh, how did I react to being
nominated?  I got a call from the producer, from Lisa Hesser, and yeah, I
hadn't really been thinking about the awards anyway, and I had only been on
the show two months, so I wasn't expecting it! It was a pleasant surprise and
it's a great thing to be recognized after such a short time. It was very
happy news, and it's a great feeling to be recognized by your peers and by
the fans for your work.
Josh: He gets the award just for that speech right there!
KaraBabe15 asks: Can you please tell me how old Jesse Metcalfe is and his
birthday? Thanks
Jesse: I'm 21, December 9. :)
JazzedinFL asks: I was wondering what brought Juliet Mills to the soap world?
And what is like for all of you to do this type of work?
Juliet: Well, what brought me to the soap world is Tabitha Lennox! Just a
very irresistible character to be able to play! And the thought of a regular
job was nice too, especially since I only live ten minutes down the road! So
that was it, really:  the role is what brought me to the soap world.
ChaosAngel99 asks: How do you all feel about the success of Passions?
Josh: I'm just flabbergasted! I didn't see it at all. I was taken... I felt
like I was hit by a train. It's all gone so quick, and looking back at the
trail we've just paved, it's amazing.
Donn: It's very cool to see how many people... It's really a pleasant
experience to have people come up to us and recognize us from the show and
realize how many people, and how many different kinds of people, watch us on
the show. It's one thing to read the ratings and see it steadily rising, but
also just to actually meet people in person is a really pleasant experience,
and it really gives us a sense that, "Hey, here are people out there
supporting us." We feel a sense of responsibility to the people who, in a
sense, signed on with us.
Josh:  I'd like to add that the success really shows us that the hard work
pays off.  All of us are working really hard and the fans telling us how much
they love it and sending us cards, it's a huge thanks that we get from them
by the support, and every time I get another thank you, it's another reason
why I do it. Sometimes the ONLY reason that I do it!
Jesse: I think my co-stars really summed it up perfectly.
Juliet: Ditto ditto.
caroline_k_2000 asks: Good luck to all the nominees!..is there one thing you
guys would like to change about your character?
Josh:  Thank you, and yes! Timmy is constantly coming up with fantasies and
I'd like it to be reality at some point! And maybe, can he get some more duds
and maybe some more special powers?
Juilet:  I don't really have anything that I want to change, I just want to
work my way through the whole cast and give them all a going over!
Josh: Be afraid, be very afraid!
Donn:  I don't want to change anything because the way I approach him anyway
is that he's always changing, that's the whole goal of acting.  When I first
signed on to the show, it was the idea of playing a character that will grow
and change continually -- and that's great! So whatever I think I may want in
the future, hopefully will happen. It's always going to be different.
Jesse:  I agree with Donn, I would just like my character to experience
certain things, maybe go through certain trials and tribulations, but I think
my character is changing all the time as well. I'd like to deal with maybe a
darker issue, kind of have a bad side. I think that would be fun.
lds10119 asks: Donn are u going to get toghter with Simone or her sister
Whitney?
Donn:  I don't know! Why are you asking me that??? I have no idea. I would
say if there was going to be any pairing -- IF-- I would think that Chad is
more connected on that level with Whitney. If that's going to happen at all.
Juliet: You know they keep us pretty much in the dark! We're only a couple of
weeks ahead of you, actually!
Josh: Yeah, I read Soap Opera Digest sometimes just to find out what's
happening! I get so confused by every day shooting that I just don't know
what's happening!
lily_purple_eyes asks: Jesse, what is gonna happen between you and your so
called friend Kay?
Jesse: You know, I have no idea! I really don't! As far as I can tell it's
just going to be this cycle of her having a different ploy as to undermine my
relationship with Charity, and of course I won't notice! As you can tell, I'm
not very smart :) My character, that is...
Juliet:  Well, at the same time, you only see what you want to see in life,
sometimes. That's the thing with this show: sometimes it is like real life.
As Donn said, we change all the time as things happen to us during the day,
and that I think is really the fun thing about doing a show like this. It's
like being in a repertory theater, where you play the same character, but
things are always different.
Josh:  I'll just play the character more mean one day, and then realize,
yesterday I was pretty upset, playing the character upset, so I have to
continue that and phase it out into a new scene.
erikano3 asks: Juliet have your arms gotten muscular from carrying Josh Ryan
all the time?
Everyone:  LOL!
Juliet:  Yes, I'm getting pretty strong, I lift weights so I can deal with
it. He is my little weight, actually! I am pretty strong, but sometimes my
lower back gives out.
namibia0 asks: Hi Jesse & Donn. Are either of you guys ticklish? If so, where?
Jesse:  My bum! ;) You know what, I'm not really ticklish.
Donn:  I'm ticklish depending on where, I guess. There are certain times
where I am ticklish on my stomach and my sides, and other times I'm not, and
sometimes my feet are ticklish, and sometimes they're not...
Josh: I am so glad I didn't have to answer that question! :)
babydoll_99_2000_98 asks: Is timmy going go against tabitha at any time
Josh: I have absolutely no idea! I hope that there's a little conflict at
some point...  There already is conflict! What am I saying? But I think in
the end Timmy will always love Tabitha. Like, if he does kill her... 90 years
from now, if Timmy and Tabitha have been skewered... I think he would still
feel upset. But I really don't think Timmy could ever really do that, because
Timmy is just not made for that! And plus, Timmy loves her.
Jesse: Does Timmy have abandonment issue?
Josh: Timmy has no mommy. Where's Timmy's mommy?
hueyhenn asks: For everyone what do you do on your offtime?
Josh:  Ha ha ha! Now I got their attention!
Donn:  I do a lot of stuff -- acting is one part of my life, I love music and
I love playing guitar, I've been playing since I was a kid, I love rock
music... I love writing as well, been writing since I was a kid. I am working
on a screenplay right now. And other things too: I love going out and dancing.
Juliet: Well, I like to do everything you do when you have a normal life, I
love to be at home, I love to cook, I love to write, I like to do yoga, I
like to go on a date with my husband to the movies and have sushi after...
But when you're working, those are the special things and you take them for
granted when you have time to do them.
Josh:  I like to watch movies at home or at the theater, I like to have a
nice dinner at home or out, I like to just mess around. I like to just
fiddle-fart...
Everyone:  Laughter
Jesse: I love to watch movies as well, hang out with Donn Swaby, I'm trying
to learn how to play guitar, I am not as good as Donn...
Donn: I give him lessons. He likes to Etch-a-Sketch.
Jesse: Yes, I like Etch-a-Sketch also.
teamo555_2000 asks: Do any of you read and respond to your fan mail?
Josh:  I try to always answer my fan mail, it just comes a little bit slower
than they sometimes prefer. I try to do it as quick as I can, but I love my
fan mail so I read it and write back.
Juliet: Yes I definitely read it and send photos and all the rest. I don't
answer many letters; there's just not the time for it. But I certainly read
everything that comes in myself.
Donn: I do the same thing, I respond to everybody, and like Juliet said,
sometimes you can't write everyone a letter, but sometimes if a certain fan
asks a certain question or something I think is worthy of a letter or
answering, I'll write them back.
Jesse: To everyone who has written, I am really thankful. All the letters
have been so wonderful and supportive. But I'm a little late getting back to
you... I will get back to you very soon, and I'm sorry about the delay. I
have spent many long nights trying to answer my fan mail!
ChaosAngel99 asks: What are all your dressing rooms like?
Jesse: Mine is barren.
Juliet: Mine is nice and cozy.
Donn: Hers is like an apartment. You should see it!
Josh: Mine is cluttered with Star Wars, electronics, and Star Wars, and Star
Wars, and other odds and ends. But it's pretty homey.
Donn: I love Josh's room, but right now mine is more like Jesse's.
Jesse: I have two posters up: One of Hendrix and one of the Beatles.
Josh: I have posters of Star Wars and pictures of me with Calista Flockhart
and Juliet.
Jesse: And Chewbacca...
Josh: And my memorabilia wall. I have a couple Star Wars wall and a
memorabilia wall.
caroline_k_2000 asks: Will Tabitha make a female doll to keep Timmy company?
Juliet: Oh! I don't know -- I think three's a crowd! LOL. No, I don't think I
could deal with another one like Timmy, no. I don't think we want another
female. We have Fluffy -- that's enough!
piercingbelly asks: so what's the best thing about your characters?
Josh: My best thing is that my character can basically do anything, he's
constantly changing, and he can have fantasies about just about everything
and he does, indeed, have fantasies about everything and anything!
Juliet: The best thing about it for me is the magical aspect of my character,
whether it's good or evil, it's fun, and I believe in magic and spreading it
around a bit, and I love the comedy side of the character too, because she's
just uproarious.
Donn: The best part about Chad is, for me, his emotional complexity.  That I
love because he's very three-dimensional and he has more than one side to him
and you can't quite pin him down, like a real person. From scene to scene and
experience to experience, he changes. He can be a really caring, sympathetic
figure and then in the next scene he might say something mean, and you don't
know where it's coming from -- but that's real, like a real person.
Jesse: Playing the hero. I'm always the hero and it's really fun.
salonga7 asks: Donn, you play a very convincing "bad boy". How much of that
image is actually for real?
Donn: Well, number one, I don't think Chad's a bad boy, I think that's how
people perceive him, and there's a big difference between how he is and how
he is perceived, but even so, how much of that is true? You know, yeah, I
think that a part of him that's perceived as a little rough around the edges
or wild or unpredictable, yeah, that's true, for myself, I definitely have a
wild side and unpredictable side and sometimes I can be refined, and
sometimes I can be a little rough. So why not? Yeah. He's me.
piercingbelly asks: what's your favorite food?
Josh: Salsa, and my mother's cooking!
Donn: Good answer, because she's right here!
Josh: I know my mother's here, but I love to eat my mother's cooking!
Especially now that I'm working more, because we go out more, so it's a treat!
Juliet: For me, Italian food, Italian cooking, I lived in Italy for a while,
and that's my favorite.
Jesse:  Japanese for me.
Donn:  That's hard for me, so I'll just give a list. I eat healthfully but I
eat junk too. I eat Chinese, Indian, fast food, my mother's cooking...
Josh: I like salsa with everything but ice cream and chocolate. I like spicy!
Donn: "Cooking with Josh" :)
potoric asks: Juliet, What's the best part playing the villian.
Juliet: Ah, well I don't know, I've said it all, I think. Just the fun of
being the bad guy, getting in there, making trouble, enjoying it, and weaving
a few evil spells, and that's about it really. Going back in the past, that's
always fun, I like being burned at the stake and all that.
shadma_21 asks: Jesse, how was it to film the scenes when Miguel fell through
the ice? Was the water really cold?
Jesse: It was pretty cold. I was cold, so it definitely helped my acting! I
just let myself feel that feeling and went with it. But it was cool. I'm
happy with the way it came out.
samantha_lynn_46032 asks: Who would you say is the silliest one on the set?
Josh: Jesse's the silliest, I probably crack the most jokes though.
Juliet: Who is the silliest one? I don't know, should we take the vote.
Josh: We all are, in our own special ways.
Donn: Ben Masters (Julian) is very funny
Josh: A cynical silly, trying to get somebody with a look.
CoolDan989 asks: Who are your inspirations?
Juliet: My father, it's his birthday today and he's 92! And he's definitely
one of my inspirations for both life AND acting. He's a great actor and I've
spent all my life watching him work, so I'd say he's number one on my list
anyway. But there are so many people that affect you in your learning of the
art of life, and of acting.  Laurence Olivier is another one, and Vivian
Leigh, and Shirley MacLaine -- she'd be good in this part.
Josh: My inspiration for every day life is my mom, and I don't mean that
because she's here! -- she helps me in small ways, big ways, just she helps
me as a friend and as a teacher. I wouldn't be able to do it without her. And
for the business, I would think people like Robin Williams, Jimmy Stewart,
just people like that. And Ron Howard, who has inspired me more now that I've
worked with him. And one more person, Juliet has inspired me everyday.
Donn: In terms of inspiration, first and foremost, my parents and my father
only because not so much that I want to be exactly like them, because we're
different people, but the example that they've shown me throughout my whole
life in terms of being the best person you can be and living a decent life,
that was my first inspiration. Secondly, I am inspired by my friends, people
who are my peers who are talented and creative and inspire me when I see
their work, and that pushes me. Also I am inspired by great minds, people who
write great things, people like Camille Paglia, who I think is revolutionary
in the way she thinks in the women's movement today, very different, and
people like that inspire me.
Jesse: My mom. Definitely. I mean, she allowed me to believe in myself, and I
think that's the greatest gift a parent can ever give a child. And for
acting, I really look up to Edward Norton. Like Donn said, I have a lot of
inspirations in other areas that I definitely look up to.
SODhost: Lindsay Korman has just joined our chat folks :) Straight from the
set :)
raven_78045 asks: To all Passions Actors:  Who are you going to bring as your
date to the Soap Opera Didgest Awards?
Josh: I know exactly -- my mother! Like I was saying earlier, she's the only
one that could have gotten me through these long work days and gotten me to
this point. Plus, I need a ride! :)
Juliet: For me, my husband, very simply, Maxwell Caulfield, my husband.
Donn: I'm flying my parents up from Florida to come, and I'm also going with
a very close friend of mine, Rochelle, which is kind of complex right now,
but she's my on again, off again girlfriend, but either way, she's very close
to me, and I wouldn't want to bring anyone else.
Jesse: I'm bringing my mom as well.
Lindsay: I am also bringing my mom, for the same reason as Josh. She is the
person who has been with me and has gotten me through everything, and I love
her very much.
samantha_lynn_46032 asks: Lindsay, do you ever get tired of crying so much as
Theresa? What advice would you give her?
Lindsay: The reason why I don't get tired of Theresa crying is because I just
look forward to Theresa's fantasies, which make Theresa very happy, which
makes Lindsay very happy too! My advice would be -- just because I know how
much she loves Ethan -- I would tell her to follow her heart, but also work
more on her fashion career, which will help her be preoccupied with her
career and not just with Ethan all the time. :)
juan9669 asks: What is the tatto on your back Jesse?
Jesse: It's a cross. Part of it is Celtic, part of it is from the Middle
Ages, some European artist. I got it from a book. And part of it I designed
myself.
boltonfan5 asks: Congratulations on the nominations! Have you all prepared
acceptance speeches?
Josh: Yeah, I have. But not really! I sort of have and I'm not going to tell.
Juliet: I haven't prepared an acceptance speech, no. I'd like to think that I
could be spontaneous. I think the people that prepare too much get nervous
and forget who they wanted to thank. I think it's best just to be in the
moment and say what they want to say.
Josh: The reason I did prepare one is that if all the heavens come together
and I do win the award, I don't want to blabber like an idiot!
Donn: Probably the night before, I'll prepare something short and sweet and
if I get to use it, great, and if not, no big deal!
Jesse: I haven't, but I know who I want to thank. I don't think I'll have any
trouble remembering.
Lindsay: I agree with Josh and Juliet. If it does happen, I would just go up
there. If it were to happen.
tricks26 asks: Donn what kind of music do you like?
Donn: I actually appreciate all kinds of music because I am a musician, and I
am the type that can go to any type of club and just get into it.  I can
dance to goth, rock, hip-hop, house music, techno, jazz... the old-time jazz
like Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, but if I had to pick a genre, hey, it's
rock and roll. It'd have to be -- I just love rock!  Yeah baby!
jessemetcalfefan asks: Hey guys! This question is for Jesse. Jesse, November
24th, I met you in NY, maybe you remember me, I was the one crying like a
baby and I gave you a brown Nautica fleece, anyway, I heard you are going
there again March 4th, but on the Passions website it also says you will be
in CA that day, I really want to meet you again so can you tell me if it's
March 4th that you will be in NY? I love you! ~Tasha
Jesse: On March 4th I'll be in NY and on March 5th I'll be in Valencia,
California.  And I'd like to send my love to you -- I love my fleece, thanks
for hooking me up!
samantha_lynn_46032 asks: Juliet and Josh, you two are my favorites on the
show. Juliet, what advice would you give Tabitha? And Josh, what advice would
you give Timmy?
Juliet: I guess I would say, "Don't go too far!"
Josh: I would say the opposite -- "Have more backbone! Don't be afraid!"
ChaosAngel99 asks: What were you all like in high school? Were you all
popular? Jesse: I wasn't! No, Donn, I'm not lying. I had like three friends.
Donn: I was one of those in the middle, in between kids. I had a lot of
friends, I was friends with all different types of groups, I hung out with
the jocks and they didn't know why I hung out with the theater people, the
theater people didn't understand why I hung out with the AP Calculus crowd...
Lindsay: I kind of hung out with everybody, too, I don't even know why I did,
I just met people along the way and I don't know... I moved my junior year in
high school, so that kind of changed things. Then I was by myself completely!
And I graduated that year, so my last year I didn't have any friends. Just me
and my dog, Princess.
Donn: I would have been her friend!
Juliet: I went to boarding school in England, very different. It was a ballet
school and I enjoyed it. I had good friends there that I still have to this
day. It's a different system in England. I was sent to boarding school when I
was nine years old, and it was very hard for me up until I was a teenager,
and then I really reveled in being independent and away from home. I was
fairly popular and very naughty -- which always makes you popular!
Josh: I hung out with at least one type of everybody. I didn't really care!
psychoguy7 asks: Lindsay, do you sometimes think your character is a little
insane?
Lindsay: She's crazy at times, like that whole secretary disguise, but yeah,
she's pretty insane for a 17 year old! But she's fun and feisty as well, and
determined.
hooami_99 asks: Is it weird playing someones sibling on T.V, and does that
relationship expand out to off-screen?
Jesse: Well, yeah, it's really cool.
Lindsay: I love Jesse.
Jesse: I never had any brothers or sisters, and it definitely expands into
our relationship out of work.
Lindsay: I have an older brother but it's really neat to have the
relationship that Theresa and Miguel have, both on and off screen.
Jesse: But of course, sometimes I wish she wasn't my sister on the show, and
that she was my girlfriend. :) But you can't have everything that you want!
Lindsay: Theresa's next fantasy: Her incest fantasy! ;)
megonly asks: What is the most favorite episodes that yall have done so far?
Josh: Episode number 39 :) For those of you playing the home game. :)
Honest! You guys want to figure out which one it is? It's the episode where
Juliet drinks too much champagne and Timmy has his ode to Tabitha, with the
montage, and he plays the piano and has a little farewell speech. Juliet was
laughing on the ground while I was trying to remember the words!
Juliet:  I think that's my favorite too because then I can know the number
too! :) That's good!
Donn: For me, I don't really have a number, and I wasn't here for that... It
was so good I don't even remember it! I have several moments in shows that
are favorite, and for me, that's when I feel I did my best work, or there are
just a few moments in an actor's career where something happens and it's
magical, and it's on and you're there, and it just felt so good, and a couple
times I've felt that. One was the birth certificate scene, Chad runs in when
Orville is burning it, and I just remember feeling so connected to Owen Bush
(Orville) and Lena Cardwell (Simone), and honestly, I felt like Samuel
Jackson at one point because it was like that scene in Pulp Fiction where he
was a bad-ass and totally in control and in command, but at the same time,
all these emotions bubbling underneath. It was like a rush when we finished!
Jesse: I agree with Donn, when it's those moments you feel you did your best
work, and one recently I did with Lindsay in the Bennett bedroom where we had
the talk about her not giving back the engagement ring. I love my scenes with
Lindsay. And recently, a scene with Charity in Grace's shop with the book,
and we were talking about love and if I'd ever had a broken heart.
Lindsay: I really love working with Jesse and my family on the show, and
especially when my father died, I thought we had some great moments. We
really trust each other on and off screen, and I think it comes across as
really honest.  Those scenes I really enjoyed back when my father died.
Juliet: I like the scenes I have with Josh when we're just screaming, but I
really enjoyed that knockdown, drag-out fight I had with Faith, and at the
end of it I felt, "That was just great." That's when Tabitha morphed into a
German shepherd!
edward_young23 asks: hey guys i'm new to watching soaps i watch it before i
