TRANSSCRIPT TAKE FROM NBC
LINDSAY KORMAN & TRAVIS SCHULDT CHAT TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to #NBC-Live!
Tonight we are talking to of the stars of the hot new daytime drama Passions Travis Schuldt is making his television debut on
Passions in the role of Ethan Crane, the handsome heir to the Crane dynasty. Travis recently graduated from Texas Christian
University with a degree in theater. Lindsay Korman is an accomplished vocalist who has been singing since the age of 11 and
has won several national vocal competitions. She plays the dynamic role of Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald, a teenager who dreams
of a life of luxury as Mrs. Ethan Crane. Welcome Travis and Lindsay!
Guest-trevor23: How did you get the job on Passions?
Travis: I auditioned first in Dallas, Texas. That was back in September of 1998. Then in the beginning of November, they called
me out to do a test out here in Los Angeles for Passions. I found out in December of 1998, that they wanted to use me, and
then I did my final test in March, and I found at the end of April. Lindsay: My character was one of the last cast, so I auditioned
in April of this year. I screen tested two times and within the next 24 hours, I found out I got the job. This occurred all in April.
Persisco: For Lindsay Korman----- Because of your vocal skills are we ever going to see you sing during an episode?
Lindsay: I'm not sure at this moment because the show is brand new. I think the main goal is to establish everyone's character. I
think that's what Jim Reilly, the creator, wants to portray. Hopefully in the future!
Starstruck: Have you been on other tv shows before?
Travis: No.
Lindsay: No
Soapfan: What's been the most fun thing about working on Passions?
Travis: It's so fun! The whole thing is fun! I think working with all the actors and meeting everyone. It really brings us all
together and we get really excited.
Brandi347: What's your favorite thing about your character?
Lindsay: Having the real life human beings portray the characters on the screen and seeing how they come across. You never
know what they will expect and watching everyone play out their characters is very exciting.
Travis: Loyalty to my family is the most favorite thing about my character.
Lindsay: Her innocent determination is my favorite thing about my character.
Dkoch485: What music do you listen to?
Travis: The Flaming Lips
Travis: Beethoven, Miles Davis and John Coltrain
Lindsay: Dave Matthews is my favorite
Passionprincess: since the show is so new...do they give you a "history" of your character? Where they came from, what their
influences are? So you know how they'll react and how they'll talk in a scene?
Travis: They gave us an outline of our characters, but what's most interesting is that this show is all starting from the beginning
and being created from there. That is what is unique about this daytime drama--the history. We are discovering the history
through the development of the episodes. It's very interesting being a part of the process.
Lindsay: Because it is new, we have the ability to develop the character. There are no pre-conceived ideas of the development
of the characters. It is a very natural, human conversation to some degree.
TeresaCrane: Lindsay and Travis- I love tuning into you everyday. I think you're scenes are hilarious. What do you guyz think
of the couple of Theresa and Ethan?
Travis: Ethan and Theresa are so different.
Lindsay: We've come from two different backgrounds. He's never met me before and I know everything about him, so we are
both opposite.
Daisymarie: How has your life changed since you got the role?
Lindsay: I'm just working all the time. I've gone from alot of free time to working, developing my character, memorizing my
lines, performing my lines. It's been exciting all the time. I'm on a never-ending adrenalin roller-coaster!
Travis: I think what's changed is that it is very exciting to actually get a job in this industry when that's what I've wanted to do
for a long time. It's changed my life completely to get something that you've been working and waiting for.
Ibee : Do you know who designed the red evening gown Ivy was wearing?
Lindsay: I don't know.
EthanLover: Will the PASSIONS cast be having any NY fan events??
Travis: You never know! Hopefully! We will give you plenty of notice, and you will be able to find out at
www.nbc.com/passions
TchanNY99: Question for Lindsay Korman: I love your portrayel of Theresa and I think her scenes are funnier and sometimes
not funnier by every day. I was wondering if you have an OFFICIAL site for yourself, were thinking about one, and if I can run
your official site? Sincerely watching Passions,
Lindsay: Right now, the website is the www.nbc.com/passions My bio is on that site. Perhaps in the future, I will have another
one.
Passions1: What do you think of Theresa's diary?
Lindsay: I think it is just another extension of Teresa's mind in regards to Ethan and Gwen. It is also fun to extend the story off
the show. It is updated every day.
Veggieamanda: There are some cast members listed at NBC's Passions site who haven't been shown yet. When will they
appear?
Travis: Keep watching, and you see them before the end of summer.
Steph444: What has it been like on the set of Passions for the past month or so of taping? Have you made any new friends?
Travis: We have both made friends with all of the cast members, as well as the crew! The makeup, wardrobe and hair
designers. We are all happy people in harmony.
Shoshana: I was wondering if you ever come back here.travis..to texas?
Travis: I hope so! I LOVE Texas!
Dkoch485: How do you feel about the show's popularity?
Travis: It's really good to be getting all of this attention. It is very exciting and we hope it increases. It is also fun to be part of
the show from the very beginning.
Angel182: What is it like to work on a show that is loved by so many people after being aired for only 7 days?
Lindsay: We are all working hard and we're happy that everyone likes it...and we are thanking God.
Helena: You guys are great actors...do you ever get nervous on the set while filming certain scenes?
Lindsay: Every day, I still get some kind of nervousness. It's more like excited energy than nervousness. I always want to do a
great job, for everyone.
Theresafan: Will the supernatural aspect affect your story at all?
Travis: I don't get as nervous as much as I used to. You have to control the nervousness and re-direct it as energy.
Lindsay: Because we film an episode a day, we constantly have new material, which keeps us on our toes.
Lindsay: We can't tell if the supernatural aspect will affect the story. You'll just have to keep watching!
Silver_Moonbeam: Has it made you look back at everything you have accomplished to get where you are? Was it all worth it?
Travis: I think we are both very fortunate and lucky to have this opportunity on this new, great, daytime drama.
Amcfan: How is it working with Susan Lucci's daughter Travis?
Travis: Liza Huber is wonderful to work with. We have a great chemistry and we enjoy our scenes together. And...she's a good
kisser!
Dazedandinawe: Lindsay do you consider Theresa a "villain"?
Lindsay: No, I consider Theresa an innocent, naive 17-year old girl, that is just in love.
Theresafan: Travis, Lindsay what advice do you have for aspiring actors and writers who dream of being involved in the
industry someday?
Travis: Never give up your dreams. Keep working on it. There is always something around the corner.
ZetteTCC: Believe in yourself
Matt: What is your most embarassing moment?
Travis: Paint, milkshakes and barbeque sauce. I had to wear these things all day.
EthansGirl4: Do you guys think that passions is mostly directed for a pre-teen teen audience or older than that and why?
Lindsay: It targets all ages. There is something for everyone in Passions.
Travis: It covers all economic classes. It is for everyone
Weckmann: How many hours do you have to work on this show every day?
Lindsay: The schedule varies but it can be as few as 3 hours or as long as 12 hours, depending on the story line and how much
we are shooting that day.
Helena: Lindsay-I read somewhere that you won a renowned beauty pageant...in what ways has that affected your life?
Lindsay: At the age that I competed in beauty pageants, I felt it gave me poise, stage presence, and the ability to find myself
when I was in front of an audience. I was really young when I competed in beauty pageants.
MANDILION: If you could work with any actor or actress who would it be?
Lindsay: I'd actually like to work with Julia Roberts.
Travis: Willem DaFoe
ASKNBC: guest-Mystic says: Travis-What's the deal with the fire eating bit in your bio-®talk about heartburn!)
Travis: I can actually do it. I put it in my resume to make conversation.
Kenny: msg AskNbc Can you give us ANY spoilers for some of the juicy storylines?
Travis: If you liked the first week, you ain't seen nothin yet! It's going to be one hot summer in Harmony.
Xperience_this: Lyndsay~ is it fun getting to spill things on travis?
Lindsay: Yes, it's fun, because in real life, I can't get away with things like that.
